A rich man went so broke that he couldn’t feed himself. One day, he approached a pigeon and pleaded,
“I know now is not really a good time to ask, but I really need help, friend. I was a rich man who unexpectedly lost all my wealth. I haven’t been eating or drinking within the past few days. Could you give me some food? Thanks!”
The pigeon willingly agreed and invited him to supper at his house. He served him enough food and wine. He ate to satisfaction and was full of thanks.
The following day, the man became hungry again. He approached an ostrich and pleaded,”I don’t really want to bother you with this, but I have no choice. I was a multimillionaire who unexpectedly lost all my millions. I’m very hungry today. Could you help me with food? Thanks!”
The ostrich hugged him and invited him to dinner at his house. He offered him bread and eggs, as much as he could eat. He ate happily and showed his gratitude.
On the third day, the man felt hungry again, so he went to the parrot and pleaded,
“Hope you could bail me out on this, I’ve hit a rough patch. I was a wealthy man who lost my entire wealth. Can you do me a favor and give me food? Thanks!”
The parrot smiled and invited him for breakfast at his house. He served him with enough palatable food and water. He became full and was very grateful.
However, later that day, a story went viral and news quickly spread around the village. Everyone began to make derogatory comments about the hungry man. They insulted and mocked him, saying,”The rich have become poor! You’re so wretched now! You think we don’t know! You go around begging the birds for food! Shameless man!”
The man was utterly surprised and wondered how everyone knew about it. He was bitter and heartbroken. He then went to an old man and narrated the whole incident to him. The old man asked,”Which bird fed you last?”
The man replied,”The parrot.”
The old man shook his head in disbelief and said,”It was all your fault! Yes, because you let a parrot feed you! No matter how hungry you are, there are some people you shouldn’t beg for food. They will tell the whole world your story and how they are feeding you for long. I hope you learned your lesson.”
Moral:
It is important that you should know this: in life, many people are like the parrot. They talk way too much, and habitually reveal personal or sensational facts about others. It’s never a good idea to let these people know certain things about you, because they won’t hesitate to tell someone, who will tell someone, who will tell someone. Be careful who you beg or turn to for help. If you ask the right person, it’s beautiful. But if you ask the wrong person, it’s like bleeding next to a shark. Never let a parrot feed you!
Have a great week ahead…!
