Monday Motivation….. October 06, 2025 (767)
A man is browsing at a convenience store when the door swings open—and in walks a dog, holding a grocery bag in its mouth.
Intrigued, the man watches as the dog trots up to the counter, drops the bag, pulls out a shopping list and some cash, and places them neatly in front of the clerk like it’s done this a hundred times.
The clerk barely reacts, like this is just another Tuesday. He starts packing up the groceries, but then tries to pocket a little extra change.
The dog narrows its eyes, growls a low “Grrrrr…”
Caught red-handed, the clerk grumbles and hands over the correct change.
The dog carefully tucks everything back into the bag, picks it up, and strolls out like a seasoned shopper.
The man is floored. “I gotta see how this plays out.”
So he follows the dog.
The dog walks to a crosswalk, waits patiently for the green light, then crosses the street.
It arrives at an apartment building, jumps up, and hits the buzzer with its paw.
When the door clicks, the dog pushes it open, hops into the elevator, and presses 8.
By now, the man is fully invested. He rides the elevator up behind the dog.
On the 8th floor, the dog walks down the hallway, stops at a door, and scratches.
An older man opens it—and immediately starts scolding the dog!
“Really?! AGAIN? You forget your keys one more time and you’re staying outside!”
The man can’t believe his ears.
“Wait, wait… You’re mad at that dog? I just watched him buy groceries, check his change, obey traffic signals, buzz himself in, ride an elevator—this dog is brilliant!”
The old man sighs and waves a hand.
“Brilliant? He’s smart alright—but he still keeps forgetting his keys like an idiot.”
Moral:
You are your own worst enemy. If you can learn to stop expecting impossible perfection, in yourself and others, you may find the happiness that has always eluded you. Choice is yours!
Have a great week ahead…!
