Monday Motivation….. January 17, 2022 (571)
Once upon a time, there lived a little girl, about 5 years old, who would come to the temple daily. She would stand before the Lord, close her eyes, join her hands and murmur something for a couple of minutes. Then she would open her eyes, bow down, smile and go away, dancing all the way out. This was a daily affair.
The Pujari observed the little girl every day and was curious about her daily routine. He thought she was too small to understand the deeper meanings of religion, and she wasn’t likely to know any prayers. So what was she doing every morning in the temple? He was curious.
After observing the girl for over a fortnight, the Pujari couldn’t resist his curiosity any longer and decided to find out more about her behaviour.
The next morning, the Pujari waited. He placed his hand on her head as she finished her ritual and said, “My child, I have seen you coming here regularly. What do you do?”
“I pray”, the girl said spontaneously.
“Do you know any prayers?” asked the Pujari with some suspicion in his voice.
“No”, replied the girl.
“Then what do you murmur with your eyes closed and your hands joined?” he asked, perplexed.
Very innocently the girl said, “I don’t know any prayer, but I know a-b-c-d_ right upto z. I recite it five times and tell God that I don’t know your prayer, but it cannot be outside of these alphabets. Please arrange my alphabets as you wish and make a prayer.”
Then she smiled, turned around and left, dancing her way out as usual.
The Pujari stood there dumbfounded, staring at her for a long time as she disappeared.

Moral:
This is true, sincere, heartfelt, innocent and unconditional belief in God, which we adults are seldom able to achieve!
Have a great week ahead…!
