Monday Motivation….. March 25, 2024 (687)
Once upon a time, a senior lawyer was debating to save 46 convicts from death penalty (hanging).
Then his helper came in and gave him a small paper.
The lawyer read this and kept it inside his pocket and continued his argument.
During the lunch break, the judge asked him “What information did you get on the slip”?
The lawyer said “my wife died”.
The judge was shocked and said “What are you doing here then? Why didn’t you go home.”
The lawyer said… “I can’t bring back my wife’s life, but I can help these 46 freedom fighters give life and prevent them from dying.”
The judge, who was an Englishman, ordered the release of all 46 men.
Lawyer was no other but great Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He is fondly remembered as the ‘Iron Man of India’, was an Indian independence nationalist and barrister who served as the first Deputy Prime Minister & Home Minister of India from 1947 to 1950. He played a significant role in the country’s struggle for independence and its political integration.
Moral:
Events may be horrible or inescapable. Men have always a choice – if not whether, then how, they may endure… We cannot change the past but we can most certainly do better in Present to make Future bright!
Have a great week ahead..!
