Monday Motivation….. August 19, 2024 (708)
Once upon a time, a chef went to a tailor shop in his neighborhood to have a suit made. As the humble tailor was taking his measurements, the chef told him, “I am a local chef, but I have a dream of becoming an executive chef at a world famous restaurant. I want to travel the world, and learn the various types of dishes, different tricks and tips from other chefs around the world. I want my food and I to be known around the world.”
The tailor smiled warmly, and said,”That is truly amazing.”
The chef paused for a moment, then asked,”Tell me, what are your own dreams in life?”
The tailor shook his head abruptly, and muttered,”Well, I don’t dream of anything in life.”
The chef found it so hilarious that he couldn’t stop laughing. Finally, he said in a tone of mockery,”What? You mean you don’t dream of success? That’s ridiculous and makes no sense! You are wasting your life by not dreaming of the future! You’re going to be poor forever! There will be no goals to achieve! Oh, that’s pathetic, poor Mr tailor.”
The tailor gave a brief smile, but said nothing, and after he finished taking the measurements, the chef left his shop.
One day, the chef was in his house when he read something shocking and quite unbelievable in the newspaper. It was about the tailor buying one of the most expensive mansion in the state, sold over £50m.
The chef was so flabbergasted that he quickly drove down to the tailor shop. As soon as he got there, he asked him impatiently,
“You told me you don’t dream of success. How come you bought a mansion that expensive?”
The tailor smiled and said,”In life, some people dream of success, while others work for success. I don’t dream of success. I work for success. They are two different things. Anyway, I thought you might like to know that I’m also starting a tailoring company which will be the richest company in the country.”

Moral:
Dreaming is important if you want to succeed- dreaming about success. But the challenge lies in having to work for that success. And, those who take up this challenge head-on are the ones who are able to succeed!
