Monday Motivation….. November 11, 2024 (720)
Once upon a time, a pig saw a woman lying dead under a tree, flat on her back, the sun dappling her body. He immediately ran to the hyena and told him,
“I found a dead body! Your favorite food! It’s a female human! I know how much you love to eat dead bodies. As a matter of fact, humans are super delicious and they taste like strawberries. I’ll show you where the body is, but you’ll have to pay me first, buddy!”
The hyena looked with amazement and said, “Okay, how much do you want? I’m so hungry now, I can’t think straight!”The pig smiled and mumbled, “Give me 400 dahma for the super delicious body!”
Without hesitation, the hyena went into his house and came out with a bundle of money which he handed to the pig. Upon receiving the money, the pig screamed with excitement and exclaimed, “Wow, I’m rich! I’m rich now! You know what… just wait for me. I want to go have a big celebration, I’ll be back in an hour! Don’t worry, the body is in a safe place where no one will ever find.”
The hyena reluctantly agreed to wait for the pig. Meanwhile, the pig left immediately, jumping up, punching the air and shouting Woohoo! He threw a party at home with friends and family. Then they went to a local diner and he bought everyone some food and drinks. He spent so much money entertaining everyone.
After a while, the satisfied pig returned to the hyena to take him where the dead body was. Upon reaching there, they saw the woman, still lying dead under the tree. However, to their utmost surprise, the woman suddenly woke up and said, “Excuse me… I was having a nap while waiting for my husband. Have any of you seen my husband?”
Just then, the hyena glared at the pig furiously and snapped,”She’s not dead! You fool! Where is my money? Give it back!”
Shocked and filled with disbelief, the pig trembled in fear and stammered,”I… I thought she was dead. Argh! I already spent half of the money.”
The hyena got so angry that he slapped the pig in the face with the back of his hand. He then pushed him hard down the hill, causing him to break his neck.
The pig survived, but multiple fractures to his neck meant he never looked up into the sky again. It became physically impossible for the pig to look up straight to the sky. Even to look at a tree top, the pig has to take one or more steps back while lifting its head to see directly above it.

Moral:
Don’t celebrate too early. It could be a costly and huge mistake. There is always the possibility an expected outcome can quickly change at the last gasp. It is, therefore, not advisable to anticipate or break into a celebration before you know the actual and correct outcome. Stop and take your time to notice things first, and make sure those things are genuine. Build self discipline. Self discipline here means putting off your immediate comfort or wishes in favor of long-term success!
Have a great week ahead…!
