Once, a lioness went out to hunt with her newborn cub. During the chase, she misjudged a leap, fell from a steep cliff, and was killed instantly.
The cub was left behind, taken in by a flock of sheep, and raised as one of their own. Years passed, and the cub grew into a massive, powerful lion. Yet, in his mind, he was a sheep. He spent his days bleating, eating grass, and shivering in fear of the world, just like the rest of the flock.
One day, a wild lion attacked the flock. He was stunned by the bizarre sight before him: a full-grown, majestic lion fleeing in terror, bleating like a frightened lamb. The wild lion chased him down, pinned him, and demanded, “What are you doing? Why are you acting like a coward? You’re a lion! Have you no shame?”
The timid lion, trembling, explained that he was a sheep. He told the predator that his parents had taught him to bleat and run for his life whenever a “scary lion” appeared.
Without a word, the wild lion led him to a nearby river. “Look,” he commanded. The timid lion peered into the water and saw his reflection for the very first time. In that instant, everything shifted. He saw the mane, the claws, and the power. He felt a surge of courage and majesty he never knew existed.
Moral:
We are all like that timid lion. The “sheep” represents our lower self—the part of us that constantly groans, complains, and lives in a state of perpetual anxiety over things we cannot control. The “lion” is our spiritual core—invincible, powerful, and limitless.
History’s greatest spiritual teachers and sages didn’t come here to give us more rules; they came to remind us of our “Lion Nature.” They came to show us the untapped spiritual strength and inner greatness we’ve been ignoring.
To overcome fear, we must first fix our identity crisis. Fear only exists because we’ve forgotten who we really are. It’s time to stop bleating and start finding your roar!
Have a great week ahead…!
